
🎶 SUNDAY 🎶 The RCHS Music Department will be hosting the Sliva Dinner & Concert on Sunday, March 10 from 11am-1pm at the Olney VFW. Music will be performed by the Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and members of the Honors Wind Ensemble. The menu consists of homemade chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, beverages, and desserts. The cost is $10 each or $5 for those five years old and younger. Mark your calendars so you remember to come out, have some delicious food, hear some music, and support One Tiger Nation's fine arts students!


Mrs. Stallard's Computer Concepts class wrote business letters to numerous colleges requesting college pennants. Here are a couple of pictures of what students have received so far.



Mrs. Kerr's Family & Career Relationships class just completed the Clothing Care & Construction Unit. During this unit, each student used the sewing machines to create a 9-patch pillow.


The Andrew Gobczynski Big Heart Foundation is heart testing the morning of Saturday, April 6 at HSHS St. Anthony. All sophomore, junior, and senior student-athletes are eligible. This includes all fall/winter/spring sport athletes, as well as band members, cheerleaders, and the dance team. This is a free service, paid by the AGBHF and provided by HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital.
Students/parents must fill the packet out and return it to the school office by March 29. HSHS will then contact parents the following week in order to schedule a time for their student-athlete’s heart testing.

GRIT Award winners for 2/26-3/1 are: Boys Track - Ian Pianfetti and Girls Track - Miranda Dowty. The GRIT Award is awarded to an athlete that demonstrates hustle, teamwork, and dedication. This award isn't necessarily always the highest scorer or top performer, but one that shows drive and passion to make the team better!

OTN Athletics offers fans a one stop opportunity to catch Lady Tiger and Tiger Track in action this week. On Saturday, March 9, both teams will be competing in Mt. Zion at 10am. Come out and cheer on these great programs!

The Olney Chamber of Commerce is privileged to have the Illinois Space Grant, University of Illinois Aerospace Engineering Dept, DePaul University, and the Champaign Urbana Astronomical Society coming to Musgrove Park Monday April 8th for the Eclipse. They will be setting up multiple telescopes, launching a weather balloon, handing out NASA gear etc. There will also be other activities as well. The Chamber is looking for groups/ organizations to operate carnival games at the street festival Saturday. Reach out to the Chamber if you have any further questions!

Distress Bandanna and Ameren came and spoke to Mr. Music driver's ed classes today to talk about Scott’s Law and downed powerlines. Thank you for taking the time to speak to RCHS students!

Tri-M will be hosting the Spring Fling Semi-Formal. The dance will take place March 16 in the Auxiliary Gym from 8:30-10pm. Tickets will be $5 at the door. Don't forget to get a form and check with the office if you plan to bring a date that is not a student of RCHS.


Mr. Music's driver's ed classes were visited by members of ABATE of Richland County who spoke about motorcycle safety.

RCHS After Prom will be set up at the Olney VFW on March 8 for taco night! Proceeds from the bake sale and 50/50 raffle will go towards After Prom. Come on out for some delicious tacos and support the RCHS Junior Class!


OTN Athletics has two indoor track meets for fans to catch this week as we start to ease into spring sports. Lady Tiger Track will be in Charleston at 2pm on Friday for the EIU Indoor Meet while Tiger Track will be back in Charleston on Saturday at 9am for their EIU Indoor Meet. OTN has some great runners to watch so make the trek if you're able!


RCHS wrapped up National FFA Week this past Friday with a schoolwide carnival!











Several members from Lady Tiger Track set personal records at their first meet of the season yesterday. They were competing in the Joe Elliott Invite in Marion. OTN is proud of these girls and can't wait to see what they accomplish this season!
