
The baseball and softball games against Lawrenceville for today - April 11 - have been cancelled due to wet fields.
Reschedule dates are as follows:
Baseball: Thursday, May 2, 4:30pm
Softball: Tuesday, April 16, 4:30pm
While this appears to be a conflct for softball, JV softball at Newton on 4/16 is now cancelled due to the rescheduling of today's conference game with Lawrenceville. It will now be played on 4/22 after the varsity game at Newton.


Tiger Varsity Baseball at home against Flora and Tiger JV Baseball at Lawrenceville has been cancelled for today - Wednesday, April 10 - due to the weather. Please check back for possible rescheduled dates.


GRIT Award winners for 4/2 - 4/8 are: Kacy Sager - Girls Soccer, Kaiya Seessengood - Softball, Alex Schneider - Baseball, Connor Grove - Boys Track, Drake Koester - Bass Fishing, and AJ Padilla - Boys Tennis (Not pictured Girls Track- Maddie Piercefield). The GRIT Award is awarded to an athlete that demonstrates hustle, teamwork, and dedication. This award isn't necessarily always the highest scorer or top performer, but one that shows drive and passion to make the team better!


LOOKING AHEAD:
RCHS & RCMS Choirs will present their Spring Choir Concert on Sunday, May 5 at 2:15pm. The concerts will take place in the Richland County Performing Arts Centers at RCHS. Admission is free. So mark your calendars and come out to support these vocalists!

RCHS Assistant Principal is Mr. Rusk. He is in his second year as assistant principal. Prior to this position, he was a teacher in the RCHS agricultural department. RCHS is lucky to have Mr. Rusk in this role and is thankful for all his hard work and dedication!


The Lady Tiger Softball game against Princeton today, April 4, has been cancelled due to weather. If rescheduled, a new time and date will be posted.


It's that time of year again - it's ERFAE's Kidnap the Teacher fundraiser! April 8-26 at RCHS, students are encouraged to donate to their class milk jug bank. All proceeds are used by ERFAE to fund special projects throughout the year at RCCU 1 schools. The classroom that raises the most money from each school will have their teacher "kidnapped" and a pizza party! The class with the best decorated milk jug bank will receive a special treat from Ginger Ale's. So students, bring your change, strive for the prize, all while making a difference!

Richland County Health Office will be at RCHS on May 6, 2024 to give required school vaccines to incoming seniors for the 2024-2025 school year. Please fill out the paperwork, along with a copy of your insurance card, and return it to the office by April 12, 2024. This school immunization clinic is for your convenience so that this requirement is met before the upcoming school year. The State of Illinois requires that any child that does not schow proof of immunization must be excluded from school. Please take advantage of this opportunity!









The RCHS Junior Class presents Night of a Thousand Lights! Prom will be held on Friday, May 3rd from 8-10pm at Olney Parkside Events. Tickets will be on sale at the RCHS Main Entrance April 15-19 before school and at the end of lunch. Tickets will be $20 per person. Students inviting an outside guest need to have the guest forms turned into the main office by April 19.


RCHS After Prom 2024 will be a FIESTA! Doors at RCHS will open at 10:30pm with activities from 11pm-2:30am. After Prom ticket sales will be at the RCHS front entrance April 15-19 before school and at the end of lunch. Tickets will be $15 including a shirt, $10 without shirt. Don't forget to purchase your tickets and join in on the fun following prom on May 3!


Joe Morris, the original Squirrelly Joe, came in to talk to Culinary Occupations about coffee roasting and production. He did a great job in showing students what it means to run Squirrelly Joe's Coffee Co. Thank you Joe for coming in and sharing with our RCHS culinary students!
